The <figure> Tag

The <figure> tag is used to represent a content that is a single stand alone unit from the main flow of the document.

It could be moved away to any other page, to the side of the page, to dedicated pages or an appendix without affecting the flow of a document.

The figure tag don't only place or hold images but can also include audio, video, charts, tables and so forth.

Example code:

<html>
  <body>
    <figure>
      <img src="newimage.jpg" alt="newimage">
      <figcaption>
         This is the text inside figcaption block
      <figcaption>
    </figure>
  </body>
</html>
